Everyone Looks Better Tan
I can't believe it took thirty-five years for me to experience my first spray tan. Lame Rose. I am learning so much. My friend, Melissa, is a professional spray tanner and I decided to take the plunge, almost a year ago, and try it. I mean, if I don't like it, it will just wash off, right? Haha. Not quite.
OH. MY. WORD! I am obsessed now.
First, it looks incredibly natural. It makes you feel and look so much better. The best part, I am not giving myself the harmful cancer rays.
When someone gives you an airbrush spray tan, it is completely by hand, no machine. After I received my spray tan, my husband was so puzzled on how this process works. Actually, I was intrigued myself so I started asking questions.
The product is a mineral-rich solution. Key ingredients include Aloe Vera, Moroccan Argan Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Squalane (Olive Derived), Panthenol (B5), Green Tea, and Red Rooibos Tea. The moisture based solution keeps the skin from drying out which is a common complaint of other sunless tanning products. The product she uses is alcohol-free, paraben free, propylene glycol free, Eco-Certified DHA, phthalate free, and vegan.
The spray tan process.
Before receiving your tan you must exfoliate, shave, and have your mani/pedi complete if desired. After getting sprayed you pretty much dry immediately. You must remain dry, no sweating or water on your body for 8-12 hours. It's best to wear baggy, loose-fitting clothes during the dry time. After this timeframe, you can shower and use soap where needed, followed by patting your skin dry. The tan will last 7-10 days.
I usually get my spray tans in the evening. This way, when I wake up I can shower first thing in the morning and be ready to go. It’s a perfect thing to do for a wedding, vacation, family photo, or just to feel good about yourself. Here are a few separate occasions after getting my spray tan on!
Will the tan flake off? Nope. Will the tan ruin your sheets? No. Can I get a real suntan with a spray tan? Yes, you must apply sunscreen because you will burn and/or tan while having a spray tan. Does your skin look awful at the end of 7 days? Nope. It will fade naturally. I personally, only had a few, minor, weird spots here and there by the 8th day. However, after exfoliating my body, it was gone with no issues.
I received so many compliments after my first tan. "Rose you are so tan!" "Wow, you are glowing." "Rose, you look great, what's different?" haha.
I'm telling you, everyone looks better tan!
