Blo, Blow Dry Bar

I was recently introduced to this cute & trendy place called BLO, Blow Dry Bar. It is a salon that provides hair washing, blow drying, styling, and makeup application.

Upon entering the salon, I was offered a coffee and/or water, along with a hair menu. The hair menu has pictures of the standard Blo styles and descriptions. Everything from straight hair, beach curls, updos, and braids. A standard blow out includes getting your hair washed, a blow dry with round brush, product application, and a style for $40.

During my first visit to Blo, I had the full service. I wanted the whole experience. However, given my long, thin hair, I have found it is very difficult to hold a curl. During my most recent visit, I had washed and dried my own hair and applied mouse prior to arriving. Let's be honest, we all know our own hair the best. I knew this would help hold the curls.

I wanted to introduce a good friend to the Blo Dry Bar experience. This was a super fun girls afternoon. This is something I would not do all the time. However, for a girl's day, special night out, a wedding, prom, family photos, etc, it's great! I will have to try the makeup application during my next visit. My husband bought me a gift card as my Christmas present and I was so pumped because I thought it was a great idea and gift! I think anyone would enjoy a gift card to BLO.

On this day, I choose a combo of "pillow talk" and "holly would" looks. This is tighter beach curl with straight ends. In addition, I asked to add a braid to my style. I knew that as the day and evening went on, the curls would fall and it would be perfect. There's also something fun and different about adding a braid. I just love them. I need to up my own braiding skills and learn more. One fun and educational perk about having someone else do your hair is learning from the stylist!

Speaking for my friend and I both, I would say we enjoyed our experiences. Having a special hairstyle followed by a beautiful evening out with dinner and drinks. It's safe to say, we both felt like a million bucks.
